The amendment to the Act on health care services financed from public funds with regard to the preparation and operationalization of health need maps entered into force on July 29, 2021.
The new regulations provide for a change in the map preparation schedule, as well as the addition of an important implementation element, i.e. national and voivodeship transformation plans. For their preparation recommended courses of action from the maps will be used. The plans will set out the necessary steps that need to be taken to ensure access to high-quality healthcare services. They will be updated every five years to take account of changing healthcare needs.
The Minister of Health is responsible for the preparation of the transformation plan at the national level and the voivodes at the regional level.
